One designer active for decades in the mini world, who remembers 109 ? And Inkzone from 2002 i believe, and Jonas.
This designer who builds his own designs, has an humble approach and designs good looking, simple and most important fast boats. He calls himself an artisan, he sails his own boats (remember he set a record in Inkzone and see photos he is the ballast). You can meet him on the docks, and his English is very good.

So why this introducion ?¿

Here is his newest child, called Jason with the magic numbers 650... already worth extra points. (points being this years great new thing on the dock, but relates more to sexual activity)

Here is his news:
Hi Leo.

For the last question, mast is not shorter, but it's single spreader for reduce drag and price.  (i asked if his mast was shorter, i need new glases, Leo)

In 2006, I designed Jason for Jean-Marie Vidal, which we built in 4 months out of glass/epoxy with the goal of qualifying it for Les Sables d'Olonnes-the Azores. Jason was conceived as an evolution of Inkzone, the 434 with good performances, especially close-hauled from a wind of twelve knots and up. Therefore, we equiped Jason with a new hull shape, optimized appendices and a lighter rig* with the intent of eliminating the weak spots we had observed on Inkzone.
Jason's results in the Solo Mini, the MiniMax, and the position it held in the Triangle du Soleil, before abandonning due to conception flaws (small rig problems, LeoV), show that the objective is reached and that it is truly a general-purpose boat, with real gliding qualities in all winds.
For the 2007 season, it has been decided to start at author's expense an all carbon evolution of Jason, intended for rent or for selling.
The plans for the deck will be drawn up with the skipper who will be willing to sail this new prototype. For those who would be interested by this project, please contact me at

NOTE:
Do not look at sailshapes, was first day out i reckon.
And applaud the sailor, Vidal, not the youngest around to order A NEW PROTO, And he is i believe the organizer of the mini racing in La Grand Motte. He is now racing against his son in the Dingo, Romain.
(info from the bar, could be slighty wrong in relations and age :) ) He raced SuperCalin before.
