Not so fun to know that we sparked a big operation, but this is what a bad VHF antenna can lead to. We found out afterwards that we only had some miles reach on the VHF. On the intervju we were very confused and blamed more ourselves.

Auch, thanks for sharing, that area with NorthWest force 7/8 headwinds is not a picknick... even 6 aint fun...
Cold water man...

On every min race the vhf installation gets checked for minimal signal, this a a proof why they do it....

At least you got terrific photos of your mini...

PS, you can lower the stormjib a bit on the babystay, but actually it looks fine that high...
Do a good check of the bolts of that padeye after this beating it got. I would replace them, its only 3 little bolts :)
Nice to see this boat seeing some serious miles...

Happy to have you back savely, then, Helge!

So this must have been quite an experience. Oh my!

And yes, I agree, at least the photographs are nice.

May you always
1. Have a bomb proof mini under your backside.
2. Have the coast guard in reach.
3. Be as lucky as you were there!

PS: Hope you didn't have to pay...?

A tracking transmitter can be helpful in such a case.
My Pogo1 (Hozro) is equipped with a DMR200: good for safety and people remaining on main land are happy to see my positions twice a day.
