I was on 143 we pulled out due to a broken bobstay on the spinnaker pole...

However Monday morning the forecast given for the whole of the south coast was 5-6 increasing 8.... we hit gale 8 around start point/near Dartmouth on teh way back from the needles after we had retired...

The rest of the fleet retired as they didnt want to break anything with the transat this year, De l’espace pour la mer retired due to Veronique Loisel  obtaining a leg injury after being thrown accorss the deck..

To be honest conditions were pretty wild! Rounding the Eddystone after the start one pogo 2 pulled out then as they wern't really prepared to risk it..

Strong conditions and a short large chop caused it I think! The only two protos continuing are because they nbeed to qualify for the transat... I'll be at the prize giving on Sunday at the RWYC i'll try and get sonme more info of those guys... :)
