Hi

I am playing around with a design of my own.  Would some be able to tell me about how heavy the bulb usually is?  And also what the all up weight of the boat usually is when packed full of food and gear and also when empty?

Also would anyone know of some polar diagrams of the average mini transat boat?

Thanks

Jordan

So do these figures sound right?

Overall weight: 900kgs?
Bulb: 300kgs?
Hull: 200kgs?
Rig: 200kgs?
Equitment: 200kgs?

and then add about 100kgs for food and sails when packed?

way high on your rig, and low on your hull ;)
check for riggers information but your rig should be arround 50 kg if alu.

Overall, thats a good number, try lighter :)

Bulb less, hull higher, rig lower,  depends on your definition of equipment, and for a mini transat I think (not sure) 10kgs is a bit light.

Just put everything in an excel sheet, you need that anyway for your stability...

I'm only 16 so its not like this design is going to be built, well not yet anyway (even if I really want to).  Although I want to make a 1.65m R/C version.  I would also like polars because I am making a model for this game and want to get it very accurate.
