Hi, I am new in the Classe Mini and I am from Salvador-Bahia.

I am planing to race in Spain in september (Mini-Empuries and Mini-Barcelona) and I would like to know how should I do transport my boat from Lorient to Lescala or French-med-coast and the logistic involved (where to leave the trailer, where to put the boat in the water etc).

My boat have a road-trailler but I dont have a car (I live in Brazil).

I heard that by Spain law is not possible to travel with a mini in normal possition (to wide).

Is possible to rent a car that could pull a mini? How much it will cost?

What french skipper used to do?

There is any skipper or suport guy that can do it for me? How much it will cost?

Thanks

Kan Chuh

Hi Kan,

My name is Francisco and I'm from Portugal.

I just moved from UK to Spain with my mini and I'm also going to race on the Mini-Empuries and Mini Barcelona.
I hired a company to transport my mini on the road, it is better to do it with a professional company because you need a permit to transport the mini in the Spanish roads, the permit is expensive and I think it least 3 years,  so is better to find a company that already has that permit.

The marina prices will depend on how long you are planing to stay in Spain and most of them have a crane to put the boat in the water, them just speak with them to make a good price to keep the trailer in the marina.

I moved to Valencia, there are 3 or 4 minis here that will also race on the Mini-empuries, for sure I'm going to L'escala by sea and hopefully we can all go at the same time!

Hope this helps,

Kiko

Hi! You should contact portemvaixells.com, very professionals, they do all my road trips in all security. Much cheaper than others, and they sail, so they know what boats and mini are...

Kan,

You are rigth. In Spain you cannot use your trailer in normal position, because the maximal wide is 2.5 meters. Another possibility, if you can rent a car, is to move your boat from Lorient to a french harbour near the frontier (in France is allowed to carry the boat) and then go by the sea.
Francisco, I am happy to hear about you. We are neighbours in Valencia.
I would like to see all of you in L'Escala but late problems make hard to participate.
Good luck !
